    Job DescriptionAxios Professional Recruitment is partnered with a human services non-profit in Muskegon, who is actively looking to hire a qualified Call Specialist. This individual will work as an integral member of the staff to provide confidential, appropriate, unbiased health and human service information, referral and advocacy to private individuals and professionals in the communities we serve by telephone, email, social media, mail and in person. They will provide comprehensive information and will provide Specialized Senior Information and Assistance per our contract with Senior Resources. Call Specialist Benefits:
    • $19/hour
    • Short-term assignment
    • Full-time: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
    • 30-minute lunch break
    Call Specialist Responsibilities: Information & Assistance
    • Provide comprehensive health and human service information and referral for all residents of CALL's service region.
    • Offer specialized information, assistance, and referral for age-specific inquiries and Senior Services for Muskegon, Oceana, and Ottawa counties.
    • Utilize the database and other systems to collect, enter and update caller/contact information in compliance with contract and reporting requirements stipulated by agency and funding partners
    • Complete internal referral functions for Senior Resources' accessible services.
    • Establish rapport and accurately assess inquirer needs by using relevant questions to obtain information. Probe beyond the presenting problem when indicated.
    • Empower inquirers by providing information that will enable them to choose the most appropriate referrals for their need.
    • Perform advocacy and intervention on behalf of an individual or group of individuals when needed services are not being adequately provided.
    • Collect and maintain confidential, accurate, up-to-date records on all referred inquirers.
    • Adhere to all internal policies established by CALL to comply with national AIRS standards and quality assurance goals.
    • Abide by the CALL's Code of Ethics. Maintain inquirer confidentiality in the process of service delivery.
    • Utilize effective crisis-handling techniques when dictated by an inquirer's needs.
    • Schedule follow-up calls as appropriate.
    Community Engagement
    • Share information with individuals and community agencies concerning the availability, purpose, and extent of CALL's services.
    • Promote CALL at resource fairs and community events as assigned by Executive Director
    • Represent CALL on local and state committees and networking groups as assigned by Executive Director
    Personal & Professional Development:
    • Participate in professional organizations directly related to CALL.
    • Pursue Inform USA certification as a Certified Community Resource Specialist.
    • Attend state and national conferences as deemed appropriate by Executive Director.
    Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Works on a shift other than regularly scheduled, may be non-traditional hours, as needed.
    • Comply with all policies and procedures.
    • Protect the agency through maintaining confidential records and information.
    • Attend monthly staff meetings.
    • Represent our Company in a positive, professional manner while attending community events, as required.
    • Perform all other related tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
    Call Specialist Qualifications:To be considered for the Call Specialist position, applicants should: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Must have valid Michigan driver's license, reliable transportation and provide current proof of automobile insurance. Education: A Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in social work, sociology, psychology or a human service related field is required. Experience in human services or working with older clientele is helpful. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of regulations and instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Language Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in written format. Ability to use resources and technology to acquire and organize information. Ability to present information and respond to questions from private and professional members of the community. Other Skills & Abilities: Ability to work well with people on a personal basis and demonstrates outstanding customer service skills. Work effectively with people of diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds and persons with disabilities and mental illness in a respectful and positive manner. Ability to work as a member of a team and ability to work independently, as needed. Ability to maintain confidentiality. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. TECHNICAL SKILLS: Basic typing skills, Microsoft proficient, ability to use the internet including social media, printers, copiers, scanners and password management.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to travel in all kinds of weather and have reliable transportation. May involve travel to other locations/agencies as needed.
