    The Department of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology invites applications for two full-time, benefited, 9-month, Instructor, Lecturer, or Senior Lecturer positions in English. The successful candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate general education courses in composition, workplace writing, and technical and professional communication, with the possibility of additional courses in their areas of specialization. Preferred candidates will have experience teaching at the university level and be able to contribute to the department's undergraduate degree program in Science, Technology, and Society, which has two tracks: (1) environment and sustainability and (2) policy and law.

    An MA or PhD in English language and literature, rhetoric and composition, technical and professional writing or communication, or a closely related discipline is required at the time of appointment. The desired start date for these positions is August 2024.
