    About the role

    This position is responsible for the research, development, and application of software as it relates to new and existing products. As required, this position may encompass the following steps of the product life cycle: specification, design, implementation, testing, release, and manufacturing support. Working under moderate supervision the incumbent typically works on moderately complex projects/assignments.

    Responsibilities
    • Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications
    • Support and/or install software applications/operating systems Develop technical and software specifications for products and systems
    • Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and documentation of software
    • Write efficient code for basic to intermediate level programming assignments
    • Research and develop new software modules that would be useful for the company
    • Work with Product Management in the various stages of product development, as required
    • Prepare statement of works, project plans
    • Keep lines of communication open on status of assigned projects and activities
    • Work with Document Control to create a document package that completely specifies the design and implementation of an application; Responsible for implementing documentation updates and changes to existing applications
    • Research new products, technologies and applications
    • Responsible for designing, coding, testing, debugging, evaluating, and documenting application development on embedded/mobile Android, iOS and/or Windows platforms
    • Design and implement elegant, highly quality applications with a simple customer experience
    • Peer reviews for code and design
    • Develop technical and software specifications for products and systems
    Qualifications

    Education & Experience
    • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science
    • MS Certified Application Developer (MCAD) or MS Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) preferred
    • 2-5 years of programming experience
    Skills & Abilites
    • Excellent documentation skills; may include ERDs, Mockups, UMLS, and Gaunt Charts
    • Excellent teamwork, communication and organizational skills with a keen focus to detail
    • Understanding of electrical safety
    • Ability to manage and lead small to midsize projects
