    As a Community Support Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in providing person-centered, strength-based care, emphasizing skill acquisition and harm reduction.

    In this role, you will employ stage-wise and motivational approaches, engaging clients in decision-making and self-advocacy throughout the recovery and resiliency process.

    Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering life-changing mental health services, empowering clients through behavioral interventions, and fostering recovery and resilience.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and intervention implementation for clients.
    • Collaborate with clients, families, and stakeholders to develop individualized treatment plans addressing specific needs and goals.
    • Utilize evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Positive Reinforcement Techniques, Trauma-Informed Strategies, CBT, and DBT.
    • Deliver behavioral interventions, including motivational interviewing, operant conditioning, interpersonal and group dynamics, and cognitive processing.
    • Coordinate care with other service providers, such as primary care physicians, psychiatrists, schools, and community organizations.
    • Maintain accurate and timely records of client interactions, treatments, and progress per organizational policies.
    • Participate in staff development activities, training, and education programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
    • Contribute to the organization's quality improvement initiatives, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
    • Collaborate with the team, including case managers, therapists, and support staff, to ensure effective care coordination and client support.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders involved in the client's care, such as parents, teachers, counselors, and professionals.

    Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields of study: Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education, Criminal Justice, Family Studies, Counseling, Recreational Therapy, Human Services, Human Development, Child Development, Gerontology, Behavioral Science, Rehabilitation Counseling
    • Associate of Applied Science in Behavioral Health Support degree from an approved institution
    • Work experience in a related human services field may substitute for educational requirements. Related fields may include direct support such as case management, residential support, developmentally disabled support, vocational rehabilitation, and more. Four years of qualifying experience minimum or a combination of education and experience equaling four years required.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective therapeutic relationships with clients.
    • Knowledge of evidence-based practices and their application in mental health treatment.
    • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards related to mental health services.
    • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficiency with electronic medical records and documentation systems.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
    • Commitment to continuing professional development and ongoing learning.
