    Job Description

    Position Summary:
    Under direct supervision, performs repairs on machinery, electrical, or mechanical or a combination of equipment. May also perform various routine procedures in the maintenance and repair of the facility. This includes but is not limited to building, grounds, lighting, plumbing, and HVAC.

    Qualifications


    Essential Functions:

    • In-person attendance.
    • Follow and comply with all safety standards including LOTO.
    • Performs entry to mid-level reactive and planned maintenance as directed.
    • Provide safe and timely mechanical and electrical support.
    • Confer with supervisor on job assignments and preventive maintenance and maintenance work orders.
    • Perform entry level analysis, troubleshoot, replace and install electrical AC controls.
    • Troubleshoot and correction of equipment that utilize Programmable Logic Controllers per electrical print readout and be able to monitor I/O status of the PLC.
    • Create and close work orders, along with remaining current on work-related communications.
    • Basic remote I/O troubleshooting.
    • Work from factory drawings, blueprints, worksheets, and other related documents.
    • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of manufacturing equipment.
    • Complete and retain MasterBrand Cabinets powered industrial equipment certification to include industrial forklift and aerial platform (required).
    • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
    • Communicate the ordering of supplies and repair items as necessary.
    • Maintains the grounds and building exterior by performing any one of the following technical disciplines: routine electrical, mechanical, and carpentry.
    • May set up and test equipment. Examples are drill press, grinder, band saw and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
    • Inspects machine components to assure safety requirements are met.
    • Cross-train with other maintenance technicians and associates.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • Able to replace linked chain with master links, laced belts, rubber bands for rollers, and belt applications that require specialty equipment (be able to follow direction of the equipment).
    • Able to replace bearings, shafts, rollers and sprockets.
    • Able to replace gearbox and motors.
    • Able to drill, tap, and thread bolt holes properly.
    • Able to use concrete hammer drill with anchors to secure equipment.
    • Able to apply grease to lubrication points properly with proper tooling.
    • Able to change out V-Belts for fans and work with pulley systems that supply those fans.
    • Able to do basic plumbing, painting, and building repair work as it applies to facilities maintenance.

    General Requirements:

    • Read, write, comprehend and carry out all written and verbal departmental instructions.
    • Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work area, giving safety of self and others a priority.
    • Follow all established safety practices and procedures, including reading and understanding material and safety data sheets, lockout policy, and entanglement policy.
    • Use trade math with drawings.
    • Ability to accurately use and read tape measure, steel rule, caliper, fixed-gauge measuring devices, micrometers, and other precision instrument, both metric and standard.
    • Ability to understand and perform decimal/fraction/metric calculation and conversion.
    • Meet, maintain or exceed quality standards.
    • Maintain and promote positive attitude, teamwork and cooperation.

    Work Environment:

    • Able to work without direct supervision while completing tasks assigned.
    • Manufacturing environment, with frequent exposure to wood dusts, and cabinet-making related materials such as wood glue, requiring eye protection.
    • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures due to non-climate controlled environment.
    • Exposure to sounds over 85 dB, requiring ear protection.

    Sensory/ Physical Requirements:

    Sensory:

    • Frequent speaking, hearing, near vision, far vision and touch.

    Physical:

    • Frequent head/neck static position, rotation, flexion and extension.
    • Frequent change in torso/back position, frequent stooping, bending and twisting.
    • Frequent finger dexterity.
    • Frequent simple grasp, firm grasp and wrist flexion.
    • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and climbing of stairs and ramps.
    • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and carrying.
    • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and perform repetitive-motion tasks for the duration of working shift.
