    How to manage the transition to your new role?

    • You work with your current and new leader to determine a start date in your new position. Typically, this transition occurs in 2-3 pay cycles, but longer transition times can occur due to current business unit needs.

    Testing Required:

    Job Title: Nuclear QA Inspector (All Levels) - Fermi 2 Nuclear Power Plant

    Assists Nuclear Quality Assurance Personnel with/ or performs inspections of nuclear plant equipment and systems including instrumentation and controls, electrical, mechanical, welding, and civil disciplines. Monitors plant functional areas such as maintenance, operations, radwaste, and refuel activities as directed by supervision, and performs quality observations of job performance, workmanship, materials, human performance, and safety. Participates in audits, surveillances, and self-assessments as a lead or team member. Verifies station processes meet specification, design, regulatory, and program requirements. Recommends issuance of stop work orders when required. Performs inspections, tests, and examinations by reviewing records and documents for compliance with procedures, codes, and acceptance criteria.

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    Associate (Technician/Level I) -

    • High School Diploma/GED

    Four months of Nuclear Power Plant experience.

    Nuclear QA Inspector (Level II) -

    • Have or have had a minimum of two Level II or Level III Inspector in ANSI N or equivalent, and/or ASNT/ANSI SNT-TC-1A (1984), or CP , OR
    • High School Diploma or GED and five years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities, OR
    • Associate Degree and 3 years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities, OR
    • Bachelor's Degree and 1 year of experience in equivalent inspection, examination or testing activities.

    Senior QA Inspector (Level III) -

    • Certified Level II NQA Inspector per ANSI N in four disciplines: Electrical/I&C inspector, Mechanical inspector, Welding inspector, Civil inspector (Current Level III's in any of these disciplines can be used to meet this requirement) AND
    • Certified Level III NQA Inspector per ANSI N in at least 2 of the following disciplines: Electrical/I&C inspector, Mechanical inspector, Welding inspector, Civil inspector AND
    • Certified Level II NDE per ASNT SNT-TC-1A or ANSI/ASNT CP in the following methods: Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant AND
    • Must be able to provide documentation of having performed a minimum of two inspector Initial/Recertification or Annual Performance Certifications for Level II or III Inspector AND

    In addition to the requirements above, this is a multi-track base requirement job; education and experience requirements can be satisfied through one of the following four options:

    • 6 years of satisfactory performance as a level II or III NQA Inspector at Fermi, OR
    • High school diploma or GED and 9 years of related experience in equivalent inspections, examination, or testing activities; OR
    • Associate degree and 7 years of related experience in equivalent inspections, examination, or testing activities; OR
    • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience in equivalent inspections, examination, or testing activities.

    Other Requirements

    Nuclear QA Associate

    • Work toward pursuing Level II ANSI N and NDE Examinations per ASNT SNT TC-1A or CP certifications in various disciplines to progress into the QA Inspector position within 12 months from hire date or as prescribed by Supervision.
    • Is attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence, looks for improvements continuously, monitors quality levels, finds root cause of quality problems, own/acts on quality problems.
    • Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others and has good listening skills.
    • Must work shifts as assigned and respond to plant events outside normal working hours.

    Nuclear QA Inspector

    • Is attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence, looks for improvements continuously, monitors quality levels, finds root cause of quality problems, own/acts on quality problems.
    • Knowledge of 10CFR50 Appendix B requirements
    • Understands duties and responsibilities, has necessary job knowledge, has necessary technical skills, understands company missions/values, keeps job knowledge current, is in command of critical issues.
    • Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others and has good listening skills.
    • Must work shifts as assigned and respond to plant events outside normal working hours.
    • Work towards pursuing Level III certifications in one or more disciplines to progress into the Senior Inspector position.
    • Obtain Level II certifications in one or more disciplines within 12 months from hire date.
    • May be assigned to maintain a position on the Fermi Emergency Response Organization ERO in support of the Radiological Emergency Response Plan RERP.
    • Must be able to pass all phases of "In-Processing" including a background investigation, psychological screening, orientation, radiation work/respiratory training and be medically certifiable (drug and alcohol screen).

    Senior Nuclear QA Inspector

    • Is attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence, looks for improvements continuously, monitors quality levels, finds root cause of quality problems, own/acts on quality problems.
    • Communicates well both verbally and in writing, creates accurate and punctual reports, delivers presentations, shares information and ideas with others and has good listening skills.
    • Understands duties and responsibilities, has necessary job knowledge, has necessary technical skills, understands company missions/values, keeps job knowledge current, is in command of critical issues.
