    SUMMARY

    As the Enterprise Data Architect within our Corporate Data team, you will lead the design and implementation of end-to-end Corporate BI Solutions. Your responsibilities encompass developing BI Platforms, corporate data warehouse architecture, master data management solutions, and establishing an advanced analytics infrastructure. Essential to both the Corporate Data Warehouse agile team and broader company projects, your role involves evaluating current projects, recommending optimal data architectures, and crafting a cohesive data framework that aligns with our business strategy.

    Your expertise will guide the creation of accessible, secure data systems that support our business needs and future objectives. Collaborating with teams across information technology, engineering, architecture, and operations, you will drive the development of solutions that enhance our enterprise platforms and lay the groundwork for a forward-thinking data architecture.

    You will play a crucial role in architecting, deploying, and managing large-scale enterprise data platforms and solutions, utilizing emerging cloud technologies. This includes planning and integrating data platforms on an enterprise scale, necessitating strong coordination and collaboration skills with users, system designers, and developers. Your ability to communicate effectively, manage teams, solve problems, and exhibit leadership will be key to our success.

    In an agile environment, you will form partnerships with business lines globally, ensuring seamless collaboration across the company's administrative and functional areas. Your work will be in close coordination with infrastructure, application, security, and data architects and analysts, ensuring a unified and strategic approach to our company's data and analytics infrastructure.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Collaborate in crafting and executing a forward-looking data architecture that aligns with business objectives and IT strategy.
    • Advise the data engineering team on optimally structuring data within the corporate data warehouse to cater to the diverse needs of various analytics personas, developing actionable data models and architecture strategies.
    • Excel in a dynamic environment by managing a diverse array of projects and technologies with a team-oriented, iterative approach.
    • Translate requirements into cohesive, well-designed data integration solutions, navigating the complexities of both on-premises and cloud environments.
    • Architect and design data platforms, data pipelines, and common data services using the latest in cloud-native integration and analytics technologies.
    • Seamlessly incorporate data governance platforms with existing data platforms and lakes to ensure data integrity and compliance.
    • Actively engage with senior business and technology leaders to clarify the significance of data technologies, align teams on strategic objectives, manage expectations, and provide innovative insights.
    • Conduct thorough evaluations of existing data platforms and tools, identifying areas for improvement, consolidation, and opportunities
    • Assess and refine ETL and other data integration processes to eliminate inefficiencies, complexity, and maintainability issues, ensuring clear communication of these changes to all stakeholders.
    • Guide the strategic direction of technology solutions, ensuring their successful development, deployment, and support while fostering an environment of continuous learning and adaptation.
    • Generate solutions and ideas that account for a wide range of perspectives, addressing the priorities and concerns of all stakeholders within and outside the organization.
    • Demonstrate proactive leadership by encouraging team accountability and commitment towards meeting company objectives, while fostering a culture of collaboration and respectful exchange of ideas.
    • Work closely with other architects and leaders to facilitate effective data sharing and integration across various business domains.
    • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of strategy and architecture modeling standards, ensuring our systems seamlessly interact with external and internal technologies.

    • None; may instruct and/ or coach other professionals

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, or equivalent job-related experience.
    • At least 10 years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 5 years in architecture and data engineering.
    • At least 2 years of experience in deploying solutions on AWS or Azure; Azure experience preferred.
    • Experience in modern data warehouse, data analytics, and data governance.
    • Experience in the animal health or healthcare industry is beneficial.

    Certificates, License & Registrations

    • AWS or Azure certification preferred.
    • Snowflake and STIBO STEP certifications are advantageous.

    Competencies (Skills & Abilities)

    • Essential hands-on experience with Snowflake and designing data warehouses using AWS or Azure technologies.
    • Proficient in data modeling within data warehouse environments and expert-level SQL skills.
    • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
    • Familiarity with OLAP databases like Snowflake and OLTP databases like MySQL.
    • Experience with data integration tools (e.g., Matillion, Talend, Informatica, Glue, ADF.)
    • Competency in BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
    • Proficient in creating visual representations of architecture at various levels, ensuring diagrams are clear and easily understandable by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Strong technical, detail-oriented skills with a solid understanding of data security, compliance, and policies.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
    • Highly organized, self-motivated, with strong problem-solving skills and a capacity for continuous learning.
    • Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, consensus-driven environment and adapt to change in a fast-paced setting.
    • Experience handling confidential information with discretion and judgment.
    • Previous work in the healthcare industry is a plus.
