Work type and location:
Hybrid (3 days on-site - you pick days) - Suquamish, WA

Duties:
Overseeing the planning and execution of internal audits
Ensuring the organization complies with governmental and international obligations
Making recommendations for policies
Partnering with other managers in risk assessment, reporting, and audit procedures
Researching and giving guidance on accounting matters and transactions
Assisting clients in adopting FASB Accounting Standard Updates and complying with GAAP
Ensuring the financial health of the organization

Qualifications:

Bring a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with a focus on tribal entities or organizations.

Proven track record of successfully managing complex financial systems and processes.
Advanced proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems. Experience with tribal-specific financial software is a plus. Ability to leverage technology for process optimization and efficiency improvement.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse stakeholders. Proven ability to work effectively with tribal leadership, board members, and external partners
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.

Ability to identify financial risks and opportunities, providing insights that contribute to the overall success and sustainability of the tribal entity.

Demonstrated experience managing internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with tribal regulations, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and other relevant standards.

Proven ability to implement and maintain effective internal controls.
