    Prep Cook JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Do you have a passion for food? Love pizza or Italian food? If so, this is the perfect job for you Pizzeria Pezzo is a "scratch-kitchen" restaurant, specializing in Italian cuisine, with a special focus on artisanal coal-fired and Chicago-style deep-dish pizza.

    We currently have two locations in the Twin Cities, in White Bear Lake and Woodbury.

    Pizzeria Pezzo is seeking part-time & full-time prep cook team members for our upcoming new location in Southdale, Edina MN.

    This position will directly report to the General Manager and will perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations & ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes.

    This individual will need to be quick, diligent, & willing to improve on the job.

    This individual must be deft & able to follow instructions, as well as adhere to all health & safety rules in the kitchen, adhering to all state and county health regulations.

    The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment, as part of a cohesive team member.


    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Follow prep lists to prioritize prep duties. Monitor & maintain par levels
    • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
    • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in recipes
    • Prepare cooking ingredients, including properly washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, etc.
    • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, par-boiling food, etc.
    • Prepare simple orders such as salads, entrees, etc.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, maintaining orderly and clean working area (including floors), etc.
    • Ensure all food and other items are properly
    • Comply with all nutritional and sanitation guidelines according to Pezzo and state & county requirements
    • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
    Qualifications


    Skills/Qualifications:

    • Proven experience as a prep cook and/or previous commercial kitchen experience
    • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen and according to state/county regulations
    • Manual dexterity - able to safely operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
    • Team player with great communication skills
    • Patient and an ability to stay positive under pressure
    • Positive attitude & ability to be task oriented, organized, detail oriented, & ability to prioritize tasks
    • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; training from a culinary school a plus
