    Job Responsibilities

    The Software Engineering Intern positions are available within the Digital Business Unit, either in Global Product and Technology or Innovation teams. The Digital Business Unit partners with our customers to safeguard their data, assets, and reputation from internal and external threats such as disasters, ransomware, and shifts in the market. We do this through a unified asset and data strategy that builds sustainable new revenue streams while leading our customers in their digital journey across their physical and digital assets.

    As a Software Engineer Intern at Iron Mountain you will:

    • Contribute to design, development, and deployment of state of the art digital transformation, work with an agile engineering team to provide computer programming assistance in the development of several software projects
    • Help create solutions for product roadmap and customer-driven requirements
    • Participate in design discussions about the technical implementation and consider the tradeoffs to support business value, scalability, and delivery time
    • Develop unit tests with a test driven mindset
    • Debug and address performance issues
    • Work with project managers, solution architects, ML engineers, and data scientists to implement and deliver solutions
    • Assist in the development of a product feature
    • Work with Product Management on reviewing existing features and future roadmap items
    • Identify, resolve, and escalate any issues impeding project success

    Functional Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

    Educational Qualifications

    • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree with an expectation that the degree will be obtained by July 2025 or earlier
    • Must be returning to the course of study following completion of the internship
    • Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field

    Requirements

    • Participation in the internship program requires that you are located in the continental United States for the duration of the program
    • Interns will be evaluated for a full time position with their team
    • This is a 40 hour per week assignment, lasting between 10-12 weeks with the expected start date being May 20, 2024

    Technical Skill Qualifications (Preferred)

    • Knowledge of best coding practices
    • Hands-on programming experience (such as Python, Java, C++, C#, SQL, etc)
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Familiarity with agile development

    Professional Skill Qualifications (Preferred)

    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Great attention to detail
    • Demonstrated leadership experience
    • Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, initiative, and intellectual curiosity
    • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member
    • Ability to learn and comply with company policies and procedures
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Familiarity with agile development
