    Job Title:Head Synchronized Skating CoachHours Per Week:

    Job Summary:

    Responsible for the overall management, coaching, and development for the Synchronized Skating Program. This is a full-time, 12 month per year position that reports to the Asst AD and Chief Athletic Marketing & Communications Officer.

    This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations.

    Duties/Physical Demands:

    ● Direct all aspects of the Varsity Synchronized Skating Program including the administration and organization of the program, complying with all university, US Figure Skating and ISU rules & regulations, as well as any applicable NCAA requirements.
    ● Responsible for coaching/athlete development towards the goal of graduating well-rounded student-athletes, winning championships and World Championship qualification.
    ● Responsible for working with the sport administrator and athletic department chief financial officer to prepare and manage the synchronized skating budget.
    ● Coordinates team travel (transportation, lodging & meals) for away events.
    ● Additional duties include internal and external public relations, practice organization and competition schedule within university guidelines, and recruit the highest quality student athletes possible
    ● Responsible for the day-to-day training, practice planning, choreography and technical development of the synchronized skating program.
    ● Hires, develops and evaluates quality assistant coach(es) to maximize student-development.
    ● Responsible for working closely with ICA's academic support staff to ensure academic success for all student-athletes.
    ● Recruits potential skaters for future teams
    ● Works closely with the support staffs of human performance & wellness, equipment, and academic support to ensure high quality student experiences.
    ● Working with ICA development team to raise funds to supplement program budget
    ● Coordinates alumni relations with the athletic development staff including Alumni Weekend, Homecoming, and regular correspondence
    ● Other related administrative duties associated with the effective and efficient operations of the Synchronized Skating Program
    ● Option to teach private lessons
    ● Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor's Degree
    US Figure Skating Compliant Coach

    Desired Qualifications:

    Junior or Senior International synchronized skating coaching experience
    Experience in coordinating/choreographing ice skating programs, competitions and shows
    Experience working in a university environment

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Superior knowledge and experience in the discipline of Synchronized Skating
    Knowledge of ISU and US Figure Skating programs, rules, policies, and procedures
    Superior Knowledge of IJS judging system
    Strong interpersonal & organizational skills
