    Overview

    The Advanced Practice Provider is primarily responsible for providing patient care services, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating and educating patients. The Advanced Practice Provider will support both inpatient and outpatient oncology/hematology services . The Advanced Practice Provider is a highly visible position that is always responsible for creating a positive impression with patients, physicians and other visitors he/she encounters, both in person and on the phone.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge of advanced practice including anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology and therapeutics, basic nutrition, behavioral factors, psychosocial/family systems, diagnostic testing, interpretation of results and clinical decision making, alternative treatment modalities.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments used to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish/maintain a safe work environment.
  • Knowledge of health promotions, health risk identification, and patient education principles and techniques.
  • Knowledge of community, professional and education resources.
  • Minimum:
    • 2 Years of APRN Malignant Hematology Experience required.
    • APRN degree/certification required.
    • Experience with bone marrow transplant is a plus.
    Working Conditions:
    • This is a full time position (M-F) at Edgewood Hospital and Edgewood Cancer Care outpatient location.
    • Position may call for periodic weekend requirements.
