    Description
    Vaco is hiring for a Staff Accountant opportunity in Cleveland OH. This is a direct hire position with a hybrid schedule.

    Main responsibilities:
    • Preparation of assigned monthly journal entries
    • Performing Account reconciliations to ensure transactions are recorded in compliance with accounting standards
    • Provide support for annual internal and external audits by working cross functionally
    • Assist with project work related to grants management and development
    • Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements
    • Responsible for maintaining financial controls as process owner for key accounting processes
    • Access and implement compliance of standard operating procedures and internal controls
    • Assist in gathering data for Ad Hoc reporting requests to include data for weekly cash forecast
    • Manage AP/AR Accountant
    Required Education, Experience and Skills
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting finance or related business field
    • 3 or more years of related experience in accounting or finance
    • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong business sense, critical thinking, and analytical/ technical skills.
    • Demonstrates and ability to empower by leading others
    • Must be accounting focused with a solid understanding of GAAP.
    • Prior Non-Profit accounting experience
    • Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel
    • Experience working with QuickBooks.
    Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Experience working in Non Profit Accounting
    • Familiarity with Grants Management
