    This position should be based in either the Greater New York City area or New Jersey, with the ability to frequently commute to the NY Burrows.

    The Retail Commercial Analyst plays a key role in the relationship between head office and retail stores, representing a key point of contact for all departments, domestically and internationally, ensuring efficiency in the field organization.

    This role will focus on forecasting, analysis and guidance to the retail organization in collaboration with cross-functional departments, with the goal of maximizing sales and profit.

    This individual should effectively exhibit JD Finish Line's core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:

    Collects and analyzes various data points such as sales, store traffic, conversion, UPT, ADT, inventory, sell through and margin, among others, to forecast and anticipate trends, along with identifying areas of opportunity

    Executes after action reviews of data driven business decisions to yield future enhancements

    Researches and tracks competitor insights such as openings, closings and refurbishments, along with other key commercial competitor actions

    Benchmarks against other retailers to ensure competitive advantage

    Provides reporting to key business areas on results like weekly KPIs, pre & post opening reports, and customer profile reports


    Participates in recurring meetings with local and international partners to report progress, share insights, and develop key takeaways for implementation.

    Stays aware of key calendar events that will impact business such as crossovers, holidays, and key product launches


    Visit stores on a regular basis to improve the knowledge of the market and the quality of the information shared with the business, providing insights on matters such as new brand opportunities, space optimization, etc.

    Makes recommendations to the business to enhance KPIs based on the above referenced analysis


    Uses advance data analysis and manipulation techniques to efficiently build data stories and present them in an easily digestible way to key business partners.

    Required Education and/or Experience

    Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university and at least - 2 years of experience in retail analysis or commercial exploration.

    Strong retail product knowledge in the athletic and lifestyle footwear/apparel spaces is strongly preferred. Experience in researching industry trends, contributing to commercial strategy and competition benchmarking preferred.
    Required Computer and/or Technical Skills
    Should have intermediate to advanced knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Office and Google software.

    In particular, must be especially strong in the use of BI software, Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides and other comparable applications within Google.

    Effectively utilizes software to demonstrate strong financial and analytical skills.

    The base pay for this range will be $65,000-$77,000 with a 10% bonus target, and the starting salary may vary depending on location.
