**Job Summary:**

The sushi chef is responsible for all aspects of producing high-quality sushi for our in-store fresh sushi program. Direct interaction with customers occurs during production and through frequent sampling, making excellent communication skills essential.

Essential Job Functions:

• Acknowledge, greet, and engage all guests.
• Prepare various finfish, shellfish, and fresh produce items to be used in the sushi.
• Maintain food safety records for sushi rice.
• Assemble, package, and label various forms of sushi, sides, and spring rolls for sale to the customer.
• Create custom sushi rolls at the request of the customer.
• Train and assist other associates as needed.

We expect complete compliance with Food City policies and procedures as well as Federal, State, and Local government Food Safety Standards. Maintaining the highest standards in product quality is crucial, including monitoring temperatures and shelf lives of all ingredients and retail packages.

Keep your workstation and area neat and clean at all times. A thorough knowledge of the sushi menu and all ingredients is necessary. Actively promote the Food City Sushi Program by following a regular sampling schedule. Assist in ordering supplies to achieve minimal inventory levels while avoiding out-of-stock conditions.
