    Description

    Title: Senior Backend Java Developer

    Duration: 12-month Contract to Hire

    Location: Tampa, FL - 3x week

    Position/Project:

    Our client is expanding and taking on some exciting and new projects The Development Manager is adding a member to the Agile Development Team to work on an enterprise web application. This team will be developing an entirely new web application used for threat and security responses across the enterprise. This developer will be a senior resource that can provide the team with technical knowledge regarding backend API development using tools such as Java, Springboot/Tomcat, and PostgreSQL. This senior developer will collaborate with a small agile development team for this new application build. The team is looking for someone who wants to grow their career long term and contribute to an enterprise's success.

    Responsibilities:

    • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code using modern Java
    • Develop microservices and REST APIs
    • Integrate applications and make API calls as needed
    • Maintain small updates, create queries/stored procedures, and develop data tables as needed within PostgreSQL database
    • Provide problem-solving solutions and proactively seek opportunities to reuse or generalize existing services and implementation
    • Write efficient queries and manage data integrity using SQL
    • Possess strong communication and collaboration skills working with an Agile development team
    • Participate in code review sessions for proper code quality
    • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing as needed
    • Technical Environment: Java 8, PostgreSQL, Microservices, APIs, Angular, Tomcat, and more

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering or Science field, or related work experience
    • Ability to communicate effectively to multiple teams
    • Experience with Java 8+
    • Experience with API Development
    • Experience with Springboot – Tomcat
    • Experience with PostgreSQL
    • Software Engineering knowledge and understanding of common terminology
    • Must be able to work on a W-2 without sponsorship
