We're looking for a dedicated Full Time Peer Support Specialist to join our Syracuse Crisis Residence Program!

At Liberty Resources, we have Crisis Residence locations in Syracuse, Oneida, Oswego, and Auburn, providing a therapeutic environment for adults facing mental health crises. Our team includes individuals with personal experience in mental health challenges and Crisis Support Staff with extensive expertise in the field. Together, we offer various services such as health coaching, prevention planning, wellness activities, family support, and more, aiming to stabilize crises and prevent unnecessary emergency visits.

Peer Support Specialist Position Summary:

The Peer Support Specialist assists individuals in our Supportive Crisis Residence program who are facing daily challenges that could escalate without proper management. Using various approaches such as Recovery Services and Peer Support, they provide recovery support, coaching, prevention planning, family support, and more to our guests.

Peer Support Specialist Job Responsibilities:

Deliver essential services to guests per program guidelines
Provide peer support aligned with recovery-oriented models
Offer crisis intervention and teach crisis management techniques
Collaborate with Health Homes and treatment providers for individual care plans
Advocate for guests and provide necessary support services
Complete all required documentation in a timely manner

Peer Support Specialist Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Certification by OMH preferred
Personal experience with related disorders preferred
Work experience in behavioral health preferred
Ability to handle psychiatric crises with compassion
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Hours: Overnights 12am-8am

Starting Rate: $16.64-$18.00 per hour depending on certification status
