If so, we want you on our team Hemphill County Hospital District is seeking a dedicated and energetic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Rehabilitation & Therapy Services team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work across outpatient, inpatient, home health, assisted living, and senior living settings.

What You'll Do:

  • Patient Evaluation & Treatment: Assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans to improve function, mobility, and independence.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Provide therapy using adaptive equipment, splinting, sensor-motor integration, and more.
  • Supervision: Oversee certified occupational therapy assistants, therapy aides, and students.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely patient records in electronic health systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Educate patients and families on home programs, adaptive techniques, and injury prevention.
  • Participate in home assessments and patient support groups.
  • Design and fabricate splints and adaptive equipment.
  • Provide therapy for neurological integration and traumatic brain injury recovery.
  • Administer prevocational programs to support return-to-work goals.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Texas OT license
  • Registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • BLS certification (can be obtained upon hire)

Preferred:

  • Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
  • One year of experience as a licensed OT (new grads encouraged to apply)

Education



Minimum



High School Diploma

Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required.

Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.





Preferred



Master's or Doctorate degree in occupational therapy.



Work Experience

One year of OT work experience as a licensed Registered Occupational Therapy preferred 



Licenses & Certifications

Maintain BLS certification as a condition of employment.
