    Description
    Our client is looking for a Senior Sensory Scientist- Group Leader in Winston-Salem, NC

    Position is full-time, Monday- Friday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM overtime as needed.

    Responsibilities
    • Technical lead with overall responsibility for descriptive, expert and difference testing:
    • Oversees experimental design, test programming in Compusense or equivalent sensory software, product procurement and regulatory paperwork, completion of testing, analysis and reporting.
    • Work directly with external clients to set project timelines and fulfill requests.
    • Ability to deliver clear insights through analyzing multiple/complex data sets.
    • Work directly with client R&D, global sensory, marketing and quality stakeholders as a sensory subject matter expert:
    • Manage a team of sensory scientists and lab technicians to ensure testing is completed on time and according to the test design:
    • Supervise others in performing client's service requirements.
    • Conduct semiannual performance reviews, interview applicants, keep training records up to date for assigned employees, perform succession planning in preparation for growth.
    • Coach and develop individual and team to maximize performance.
    • Monitor and approve employees' time worked through time-entry system.
    • Recruit, train and monitor panelist performance for 5+ sensory panels of 100+ panelists to ensure quality of sensory data.
    • Ensure adherence to client's global panel performance standards.
    • Willingness to learn and utilize established client analyses in software such as R software, XLStat
    • Perform work for both routine and non-routine work as specified by separate and applicable technical job description for individual.
    • Develop and implement operational improvements.
    • Coach, train, and develop others within the group with respect to their personal development and effective implementation of operational improvements.
    • Coordinate workflow and perform daily monitoring to meet TAT
    • Confront and address problems, concerns, and performance issues
    • Support and promote company policies and procedures.
    • Perform and/or assign other duties as requested to ensure smooth operation of department.
    • Perform all functions in support of and in compliance with all state and federal employment regulations.
    • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate.
    • Meets all quality and productivity metrics and demonstrates strong teamwork and collaboration.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Sensory Science, Market Research, Statistics or related science (i.e. Chemistry) required
    • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Sensory Science, Market Research, Psychology, Statistics or related science preferred.
    • At least 10-15 years related experience in sensory.
    • At least 3-5 years in leadership
    • Online Sensory Program Certificate
