    What you'll be doing:


    This is by no means a "behind-the-scenes" role, as your work will help the company serve patients daily in a multitude of ways.

    The Facilities Engineer coordinates / performs maintenance and repairs on the physical building, mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment, as well as plumbing and electrical fixtures, ensuring facilities are maintained in the best possible condition at all times.

    Coordinates / performs facilities operations activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

    Maintains documentation of compliance activities, files appropriate compliance reports, conducts internal investigation of compliance issues to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

    Acts as primary contact for contractors / vendors for routine and emergency building related issues associated with maintenance, life safety, environment of care, and project management needs ensuring compliance with code requirements and organizational standards.

    Manages the work request system to ensure timely and effective response and provides work request status information to team members.

    Ensures compliance of facilities with all regulatory agencies, including The Joint Commission, for life safety and environment of care needs.

    Solicits, reviews, and recommends contracts related to facilities operations and works with Facilities leadership to oversee contracts with vendors.
    Reconciles and tracks invoicing from vendors and provides feedback to accounting on changes or needs.

    Participates in quarterly environment of care rounds with vendors, property management, housekeeping, Quality & Compliance, and other parties to ensure life safety and environment of care compliance.

    Provides on call coverage to support facility emergencies.
    Supports Quality & Compliance team with emergency management, creating and editing policies and procedures as needed.

    Qualifications:
    Must have studied Engineering or related field. Alternatively, completion of a vocational program would be acceptable.
    Associates Degree in Engineering or related field of study preferred.
    Driver license with safe driving record required.
    Hands on knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls, energy management, and building maintenance skills.
    2-4 years of hospital facility management, plant operations, or maintenance experience.
    Knowledge of The Joint Commission Life Safety and Environment of Care standards preferred.
    Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.

    Compensation starting range for the Facilities Engineer role is $68,000 to $89,000. Ranges are based upon market expectations and are dependent upon candidate experience.
