    Description

    Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Mechanical)

Relocation Offered | $115K–$130K Base + Bonus + Stock | Dayton, OH (Onsite)

We transform the way the world works. Pure and simple.

Our customers power the world's most essential industries—from building and maintaining critical infrastructure, to optimizing global supply chains, to enabling precision agriculture and advanced construction.

We connect the physical and digital worlds, turning complex data into intelligent systems that make tough decisions easy. The result? Massive efficiency gains, optimized costs, and simpler, smarter ways to get hard work done.

At the heart of this success is our supply chain. We partner with the best of the best—and we're looking for a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (Mechanical) who's ready to own that partnership end-to-end.

If you're ready to take full ownership of the quality lifecycle for mechanical components and lead real, lasting improvement—not just manage issues—this is your moment.

    The Opportunity

This is a senior individual contributor role with real authority, visibility, and influence. You won't be buried in bureaucracy or boxed into reactive firefighting. Instead, you'll serve as the technical authority for supplier quality, defining standards, shaping governance, and building capability across a global supplier base.

This role also plays a key part in future leadership and succession planning, making it ideal for a high-impact SQE who wants to grow beyond execution and into enterprise-level influence.

Location: Dayton, OH (minimum 4 days/week onsite)

Travel: Up to 25% (including international)

    Relocation: Fully supported

    What You'll Own (Your Impact)

    Supplier Quality Leadership & Governance

    • Establish, maintain, and elevate supplier quality standards across mechanical commodities
    • Serve as senior reviewer and approver for complex deliverables (DFM, RR, 8D, SPC/Cpk, audit outcomes)
    • Clearly define "what good looks like" for suppliers and internal partners alike

    End-to-End Supplier Lifecycle Ownership

    • Lead quality strategy from supplier qualification → launch readiness → performance management → escalation → sustained improvement
    • Build trusted, results-driven supplier partnerships that accelerate corrective action and long-term capability

Proactive Quality & Early Warning Systems

    • Lead and standardize DFM and Readiness Review (RR) programs to prevent late-stage failures
    • Own SPC/Cpk monitoring and trend analysis for key characteristics
    • Develop dashboards and leading indicators that enable early detection and faster recovery

Corrective Action & Critical Issue Recovery

    • Own governance of 8D, escalation paths, validation, and closure
    • Facilitate cross-functional problem solving during high-impact quality events
    • Lead recovery efforts when quality truly matters

    Continuous Improvement & Capability Building

    • Improve and standardize SQE tools, templates, dashboards, workflows, and reusable assets
    • Reduce cycle time, increase capacity, and drive adoption of best practices
    • Design and deliver training; mentor SQEs and build organizational capability for the future

    Executive-Ready Communication

    • Present complex technical and business tradeoffs to senior leadership
    • Influence across Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, and Executive teams with confidence and clarity

    Regional Supplier Focus

    • Provide enhanced quality leadership and partnership for North American suppliers, strengthening regional alignment and performance

    What You Bring

    Required

    • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
    • 8–12+ years of Supplier Quality Engineering experience with mechanical parts
    • (castings, machined components, metal fabrication, assemblies, etc.)
    • Deep mastery of 8D, SPC/Cpk, structured problem-solving, and standard-setting
    • Expert ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications
    • Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives and improving systems/tools
    • Strong influencing and presentation skills with senior leadership

    Preferred

    • M.S. in Engineering or related field
    • ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA), Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
    • Experience with workflow optimization, automation, or Lean improvements
    • Lead auditor experience or ownership of supplier audit programs

Compensation & Why This Role Is Different

    • Base Salary: $115,000 – $130,000 (based on experience)
    • Bonus & Stock Option Potential tied to individual and company performance
    • Relocation package available
    • High-visibility role with real authority—not just responsibility
    • A company investing heavily in quality, data-driven decisions, and long-term growth

Let's be clear: We will pay you very well—because this role matters.

    The Bottom Line

If you're a senior Supplier Quality Engineer who:

    • Wants to own outcomes, not just chase problems
    • Thrives in complex, highly engineered environments
    • Is ready for visibility, influence, and career acceleration
    • Is open to relocation for a truly exceptional opportunity

Make no mistake about it - This is the role that resets your trajectory.
