Description
Job TitleHousekeeperWe offer a full range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical specialties in areas such as emergency medicine and trauma, heart and vascular, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, women's services, and children's services.
Position Summary:
The Environmental Services Tech is responsible for maintaining cleanliness standards for assigned areas. Follows all safety and health standards.
Accountabilities:
Follows the Seven Step Cleaning Procedures and department Floor Care Maintenance Procedures for assigned areas.
Thoroughly cleans patients' rooms and/or patient areas.
Cleans lobby areas, public restrooms, stairwells, corridors and elevators. Vacuums and spot cleans carpets.
Flexes to meet department needs and objectives.
Practices cost effective measures.
Maintains confidentiality in all matters regarding patients, the hospital, the department and human resources. Complies with HIPAA regulations and patient Bill of Rights.
Maintains responsibility for own professional development.
Must be able to wear N95 or CAPR (Controlled Air Purifying Respirator) for applicable isolation rooms.
Performs other duties as directed.
Job RequirementsRequired Qualifications:
Age - At least 16 years of age

Skills
Preferred Qualifications:
HS Diploma or GED preferred. Healthcare housekeeping experience preferred but not required. Some housekeeping experience preferred. Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) and/or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) desired/preferred.
Working Conditions:
May be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, hazardous materials and waste. Maybe exposed to blood and other bodily fluids. Employee must frequently lift and/or move/carry heaving cleaning supplies and equipment that weighs up to 50 pounds. Pushing and pulling mops and electric and battery powered equipment.
