- Manage overall process and maintenance of grants.
- Work with the Program Directors on establishing their annual budgets and payroll and cost allocations.
- Track and document payments and expenditures for grants.
- Oversee grant budgets, working closely with program leadership to ensure funds are utilized effectively and in accordance with grant requirements.
- Process state and federal grant renewals and amendments, including all required attachments and revise post-award budgets, as needed.
- Optimize the grant administration process.
- Prepare and submit timely and accurate grant reports, including financial reports, programmatic reports, and any other documentation required by funding agencies.
- Ensure compliance with federal grant regulations and advise regarding the allowability of costs to be charged to a grant.
- Work effectively with all required portals to update grant documents and budgets.
- Oversee subrecipient monitoring.
- Track renewal dates and meet required deadlines for all applications, renewals, and amendments.
- Assist with new proposals and grant applications, when necessary.
- Monitor compliance with federal grant regulations, guidelines, and reporting requirements.
- Keep the organization up-to-date with any changes in regulations and assure compliance with funding source requirements and internal contractual policies and procedures.
- Assist internal auditors and auditors from funding agencies in their review of JRI's records and assist with the preparation of required financial analysis.
- Serve as liaison to funders and JRI program and executive staff.
- Work with fiscal and administrative staff to oversee timely closeout of all concluded grants.
- Perform other duties and work on special projects assigned by the CFO and Vice Presidents.
- Experience managing state and federal grants. Specific experience with CDC, SAMHSA, OJJDP, VOCA/MOVA, MACA, EOHHS a strong plus.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to handle complexity and change are essential.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- BA Degree and minimum 5 years of hands-on contracting experience in Human Service and in grant management.
- Good judgement and an ability to relate positively and effectively to human services program personnel and external funders.
- Experience with contracting forms and procedures for both state and federal grants and contracts.
- Strong understanding of federal grant regulations and compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled in budget management and financial reporting.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong product orientation; clear organization of work; ability to conceptualize projects to ensure the progress and completion of many projects at the same time.
- Ability to work as a member of a management team and to communicate with program staff and executive personnel.
