** **CARDIAC Experience a MUST** Profile Review - Unit Manager will conduct phone interview Unit Cardiac PCU (5th Floor) # of beds 24 Ratios 1:3-4 for PCU level acuity..... 1:4 Required Certifications BLS & ACLS required. NIHSS, CRRN, PCCN preferred not required. Common diagnoses/Types of patients TAVR, Post Caths- TR bands and fem stops, Temporary/ transvenous pacemakers, VATS, lobectomies, POD 2-5 CABG,Thoracic- fem pops, etc. Experience or 'Must have' skills Minimum of 2 years experience in PCU Are RNs required to titrate drips? Yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips nitroglycerin, heparin, cardizem, nicardipine, amiodarone, insulin, dopamine, esmolol, labetolol, milrinone, argatroban, Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Yes, charge nurse Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios CNAs 1: 8 ratio. May be pulled for 1:1 sitters. 1:12 at nights. Hospitalist or Intensivist in house MD availabiltiy should be hospitalist not intensivist. Pharmacy Availability will change and the house pharmacist will be available RT in ICU 24/7 RT dedicated to unit RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) All, CPAP, BiPAP, Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Yes. Offsite central monitoring. Nurses are required to watch the monitors and measure and interpret their own strips. Shifts & Scheduling 07-1930 1900-0730. 6 weeks at a time. Will be here to fill holes/needs. Weekend Requirement EOW weekend at minimum, Sat, Sun, Mon have high needs. Holiday Requirement at least 1 major holiday during the holiday season Is there a call or standby requirement? No Floating Requirements Within Skill set, traveler may float to 4th floor but take a PCU load Scrub Color/Dress Code Any professional color scrubs. Unit/Department specific orientation Can test out of Epic if experienced within the last year. (EPIC experience preferred). 8 hour Epic class in Tacoma in a centralized education department along with an 8 hour onboarding and education day, tours etc and then 1 Shift with a preceptor. 1 Additional Notes Additional Questions Looking for candidate with a flexible, team player mentality.
