- Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree in a human service field
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program for a master's degree or doctoral degree in Psychology, Social work; or in a behavioral science field that leads to a credential or license; or currently working toward a specialized credential or license in the field of mental health or substance use disorder
- Must have a collaborative educational agreement with the graduate program and the employer
- Master's degree and pursuing clinical license or enrolled in a master's degree program in Marriage and Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or closely related field
- Experience working with individuals and families with behavioral health needs
- Utilize clinical supervision and treatment team to support and guide all client care
- Provide direct clinical services for intake, screening, and referrals to other service lines
- Participate in the client's ongoing assessments, diagnosis and collateral treatment
- Deliver evidenced based counseling that provides effective medically necessary treatment of behavioral health conditions in individuals and families
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessment, risk assessment, and full psychosocial history when indicated
- Work with each client and family (if appropriate) to develop a targeted, individualized plan of care outlining specific goals and objectives
- Monitor the need for continuation of services and/or change in level of intensity of services
- Utilize PCOMS (Partners for Change Outcome Management System) in assessments and clinical treatment episodes
- Collaborate with other service providers as needed to identify an appropriate transition plan, coordinate appropriate follow up services, and assist client in connecting to beneficial community resources upon transition or discharge
- Establish Safety and Aftercare/Transition plans when appropriate
- Document all clinical work and maintain the client's electronic health record according to New Vista policies and procedures
- With clinical and treatment team support, manage situations involving client risk and provide clinical crisis services to de-escalate crisis situations and promote stability
- Manage a caseload that may include diverse populations with a variety of clinical needs
- Participate in regular treatment team meetings
- Provide referrals regarding psychiatric evaluations and medication management as well as other adjunct services such as Crisis Intervention/Stabilization, hospitalization or residential services
- Communicate and collaborate with community partners in receiving, processing, and initiating referrals for clinical services to be provided
- Attend and successfully complete all mandatory New Vista trainings

The Behavioral Health Associate, with clinical oversight and in collaboration with a treatment team, provides clinical services for individuals and families prescribed by a treatment plan including but not limited to: crisis intervention and risk assessment; person-centered recovery planning and on-going assessment; client education; individual, family, group and collateral therapy and referral and advocacy. The Behavioral Health Associate caseload is expected to provide services to individuals based on their needs and goals for recovery. The Therapeutic Rehabilitation specific position includes providing essential duties of operating the TRP program under the supervision of the Program Director. This specific role assists with providing services that are designed for the reduction in disabilities related to social, personal, and daily living skills, as well as the restoration of these skills. This role will have billable tasks that are necessary for efficient functioning of the program.
