Job Summary

Kern Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, hourly adjunct instructor position in Kinesiology. The successful applicant will teach various courses in the Kinesiology department, utilizing a range of teaching methodologies and technologies. This is a temporary academic position, with the possibility of renewal based on departmental needs.

Responsibilities

• Teach Kinesiology courses, utilizing a variety of teaching methods and technologies.
• Develop and revise curriculum to meet the needs of students and the department.
• Participate in student recruitment and articulation activities, collaborating with local schools, colleges, and universities.
• Maintain subject matter currency, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of Kinesiology.
• Assess student learning outcomes, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

• Masters degree in Kinesiology, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Education, or a related field.
• Or, a Bachelor's degree in a related field and a Master's degree in a life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy.
• Or, the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
