- Coordinate with project superintendent and foreman to see that survey stakes are in place for production crew's schedule.
- Bring deficiencies of plans to attention of inspector and project manager; assist with resolution of problems with inspectors.
- Measure all work put in place and monitor the accumulation and documentation of quantities; report these to the project manager for inclusion on monthly estimate and for reporting to the accounting department.
- Maintain an accurate daily record of job activities, quantities performed, and instruction for the owner accidents.
- Provide technical assistance with project scheduling.
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Participate in field investigation for bid reparation.
- Calculate various statistical data such as quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man-hour, equipment, etc.
- Research historical date (purchase orders, subcontractors, productivity analysis reports, etc.) and compile reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.
- Perform other related duties as required of the position or as assigned by supervisor.
- Must be able to assume responsibility, and interface and communicate with others.
- Four (4) year engineering or construction management degree, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of construction engineering and/or surveying experience.
- Working knowledge of surveying techniques and equipment, assigned discipline design, and overall engineering standards is necessary.
- Written pre-employment qualification test.

- Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.).
- Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.).
- Must comply with company's drug and alcohol abuse policy.
- Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by the company.
- Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.).
- Able to carry 50 lbs. of tool and/or materials. It is recommended to get assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.)
- Must be clean shaven and able to work while wearing a respirator and other personal protective equipment, when required.
