    Laboratory Analyst, QUADRANT LABORATORIES

    Department: Wastewater Reports to: Director of Laboratory Operations

    JOB SCOPE

    The Laboratory Analyst will perform techniques and tasks to serve a high throughput testing laboratory specializing in the detection of COVID-19 in wastewater samples.

    Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    ● Perform various lab techniques to assist with output of samples including pipetting with either a single or multi-channel pipettes, ultracentrifugation,extractions and PCR analysis.

    ● Complete lab tasks such as waste removal, inventory counts and miscellaneous tasks to keep

    clean and flowing efficiently.

    ● Document all lab techniques performed in a detailed, accurate and neat manner.

    ● Schedule flexibility to ensure lab demand is met with the potential to work alternative days and/or evening shifts may be needed.

    ● Work closely with other team members in a cooperative fashion to ensure timely sample output.

    ● Must be able to wear provided personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times to keep oneself.

    WORK ENVIRONMENTS AND HAZARDS

    Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances and other conditions common to a

    laboratory environment.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Requires prolonged standing, some walking and sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching,

    eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity, ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols, use of computerized instruments, computer terminals, and other equipment common to a clinical laboratory. May require lifting up to 30 pounds or more.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    ● Graduate of bachelor's or higher degree program in biology, chemistry or the physical sciences

    ● qPCR lab experience preferred, but not required
