    Job Description

    To supervise the departments secretarial and clerical functions. Is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the Department and the Hospital Center

    Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities
    • Prepares weekly and biweekly payroll. Maintains accurate attendance, lateness and sick time records of all cardiology staff.
    • Prepares purchase requests and follows up with purchasing department.
    • Maintains office inventory. Orders supplies as needed.
    • Monitors cardiology on-call schedules. Alerts physicians of on-call status. Reports scheduling conflicts. Relays schedules to appropriate departments.
    • Performs complex secretarial duties for the department Chief, Attending Physicians, Division Manager and Fellows. This includes but is not limited to manuscript preparation, graphic presentations, and professional correspondence
    • Maintains physician schedules. Handles confidential documents. Schedules meetings.
    • Answers phones. Relays messages. Resolves problems/conflicts or relays to appropriate staff members.
    Education Requirements
    • High school graduate with additional medical assistant or medical secretary coursework. College graduate strongly preferred.
    Experience Requirements
    • 3 years medical office experience.
