- Assist the Manager to ensure that production rates, schedules, quality, quantity, and safety requirements are met.
- Train and develop associates on third shift. Assure all associates are held equally accountable to performance expectations.
- Reviews data for causes of scrap and puts corrective action in place by using problem solving techniques.
- Work with leadmen to train associates on press setups and work to improve output of jobs in presses.
- Assures that employees are running jobs at the standard rate and investigates cause of variances from that rate.
- Addresses safety issues immediately with Manager.
- Plans, and scheduled for maintenance and service of assigned equipment.
- Conducts performance evaluations and recommends merit increases, promotions, transfers, and other personnel actions.
- Communicates goals, plans and results to associates.
- Directs associates in performing their duties to ensure conformance to schedules and quality requirements.
- Works with management to attain company goals: On time delivery; scrap reduction; identify and eliminate potential hazards; Maintain & improve 5-S principles.
- Follows IATF16949 Standards
- Assuring PPE is worn properly, and train employees on correct PPE.
- Other job duties as requested . Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- The ideal candidate will have supervised employees for at least 3 years. This includes responsibility for making hiring / staffing decisions.
- 3-5 years manufacturing or leadership background in metal stamping is preferred, but not required .
- Working knowledge of Stamping, Dies and Presses
- Previous experience working in the automotive industry is preferred, but not required.
- This person must have strong leadership skills and the ability to bring a team together. Physical Demands
- May be required to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead , and bend to the floor.
- Eye/hand coordination necessary.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
