• Directly performs in-house electrical work to ensure that it complies with safety requirements and all local, state, and national electrical codes.
• Inspects all electrical repairs done by unlicensed maintenance staff and confirms the work was done properly and to the latest electrical codes.
• Provides instruction used to train staff on proper electrical safety procedures and provides feedback to leadership when these procedures are not followed.
• Provides reactive and proactive maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure within the facility.
• Accurately interprets and uses technical documentation and schematics to solve operational problems on equipment.
• Follows-up to ensure the repair was correct for the reported problem.
• Ensures all required electrical permits are submitted and valid for work performed.
• Effectively collaborates with the Engineering department to improve the reliability of production equipment.
• Completes maintenance records in the CMMS, this will include accurate information on the shop work order, time worked, materials used, task checklists and required information during the completion of the shop work order.
• Assembles and installs electrical and mechanical components and equipment following technical documentation or verbal instructions.
• Coordinates with the Plant Master Electrician to make sure that all electrical work is completed to code and inspected.
• Acts as an ambassador for safety within the team and promotes safe working across the site.
• Fully engaged in the 5S/lean, Tier management for the organization.
• Cleans personal and job site areas daily and returns tools to proper locations as part of lean.
• Participates in contributing and completion of continuous improvement suggestions and projects.
• Documents electrical labor hours on the State of Minnesota Labor and Industry web site.
• Continuing education through online or classroom learning to maintain skill set.

• 2 years of trade school preferred and 5 years of experience.
• Must have 2 years electrical experience in an industrial environment.
• Must have the electrical and technical skills for this position.
• Must be self-starter and work under minimal supervision.
• Must be able to read and comprehend relevant technical instructions and relevant schematics.
• Must be able to execute both written and verbal instructions.
• Must demonstrate interpersonal skills to effectively provide training to crew members.
• Must have a good understanding of electrical safe work practices and are required to follow them.

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent certificates.

• Valid state driver's license
• Journeyperson's Electrician or Maintenance Electrician License
• Minnesota Boiler Special Engineers License or higher level
• Minnesota 2-C Boiler License (Hutchinson) - willing to obtain as qualifications are met.
