    Hospital Laboratory Supervisor - Core Lab at Labcorp summary:

    Laboratory supervisor role overseeing daily Core Lab operations at a hospital site, responsible for staffing, quality control, regulatory compliance, process improvement, personnel supervision, and occasional bench work.

    Requires a bachelor's degree in a biological/chemical or clinical lab field, ASCP or AMT certification, minimum 2 years core lab technologist experience, and prior supervisory experience preferred.

    Position includes administrative duties (payroll/personnel files), use of LIS and MS Office, and adherence to CLIA/CAP/state regulations; Monday–Friday 2:30pm–11:00pm shift with benefits and sign-on bonus.

    in Detroit, MI .


    In this position, you will work in a fast paced, customer focused, and challenging environment, and will be a part of our overall mission at LabCorp: "Improving Health, Improving Lives".This position has a $7,500 sign on bonus.

    Work Schedule:

    Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pm Shift: 2 Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.

    Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.

    Job Responsibilities:
    Supervise the day to day operations of the Core Lab Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported in a timely mannerDirectly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel of the department Monitor daily workflow in the lab and schedule adequate assay coverageResponsible for ensuring all shifts in the department are properly staffedResearch and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessaryEngage in continuous process and service level improvements Ensure all equipment is being properly maintained through Quality ControlPrepare and maintain Quality Assurance records and documentsEvaluate new process improvements and make appropriate recommendationsMeet regularly with direct reports to provide coaching and feedback for their development Perform bench work as needed and maintain proficiency/competency in technical operationsEnsure all work is in accordance with state and Federal regulationsResponsible for administering and managing policies and proceduresProcess and maintain payroll and personnel filesPerform administrative duties as needed Requirements:Bachelors Degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical TechnologyMinimum 2 years of experience as a Technologist in Core Lab Previous supervisor/leadership experience is highly preferredASCP or AMT certification is requiredStrong working knowledge of CLIA, CAP and relevant state regulationsUnderstanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and proceduresProficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft OfficeStrong communication skills; both written and verbalHigh level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills Comfortability making decisions in a changing environmentAbility to handle the physical requirements of the position If you're looking for a career that offers opportunities for growth, continual development, professional challenge and the chance to make a real difference, apply todayLabcorp is proud to be an
