Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our second shift production team. If you have a passion for precision, a "measure twice, cut once" mentality, and the ability to turn raw materials into high-quality components, we want to hear from you. You'll be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of Vertical Machining Centers (VMC) to produce precision parts and assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret technical blueprints, sketches, and 2D/3D CAD drawings to understand specific requirements.
- Set up, program, and operate Haas and Hurco VMCs
- Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, depth gauges) to ensure all parts meet tolerances
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions
- Perform basic maintenance activities such as PM checks, coolant changes, and filter changes
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition
- Assist in other work areas as needed.
- Perform all other duties, as assigned.
Experience and Skills:
- 4+ years setting up and programming VMCs. Must include Haas experience using G-code and conversational programming. Hurco experience is a plus.
- Machining metal parts holding tolerances as tight as in. (typical tolerances +/-0.005 in.)
- Strong basic math skills
- Ability to lift/push/pull objects up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational program or apprenticeship is a plus
