    Description


    To provide leadership, supervision, and oversight for assigned staff; and to serve as a leadership resource for students and faculty within a designated geographical region.

    To provide regional guidance for Vermont State University's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice mission and ensure access to services for the region's students, faculty and staff.

    To actively recruit and support retention of nursing students from diverse backgrounds.

    To facilitate access to academic and support services for studentsfrom historically underrepresented populations and for those which English is not their first language.

    To build and maintain relationships with community partners, support site and regional expansions, and strengthen implementation of strategic vision at the regional level.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESGuide coordination of major regional activities of the nursing programs in alignment with the academic policies and activities of Vermont State University .


    • Provide leadership to assist in the facilitation of curriculum delivery and support consistency with implementation of statewide program objectives, current nursing bestpractices, accreditation requirements, and nursing education trends.
    • Work with marketing and admissions on regional recruitment activities and provide guidance to incoming and prospective students.
    • Work to ensure Vermont State University's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice mission is facilitated by collaborating with the Chief Diversity Officer.
    • Implement regional student recruitment efforts, collaborating with University personnel to increase recruitment of historically underserved and underrepresented populations.
    • Serve as a support liaison for English Language Learners interested in and admitted to the nursing programs and collaborate with support services to ensure student and faculty access to language learning resources.
    • Assist with data collection and analysis of program outcomes and tracked data, including demographics and student resources, for continuous quality improvement purposes.
    • Assist, support and create professional development opportunities for stakeholders, clinical partners, and faculty/staff regarding current issues in nursing education, including but not limited to DEISJ.
    • Facilitate academic scheduling as needed by coordinating with staff assistants and faculty.
    • Oversee the regional operating budget to include implement controls for the management and disbursement of program funds. Prepare and maintain financial reports as needed.
    • Serve and participate on regionally related groups, committees, and boards in the best interest of the University.
    • Chair a Regional Advisory Board, holding bi-annual meetings.
    • Facilitate regional faculty and staff search committees, position postings, hiring and onboarding as needed by collaborating with program coordinators, the Associate Dean and staff assistants.
    • Assist, plan and implement new student onboarding and nursing orientation, as directed.
    • Provide support for students and faculty as needed to include management of a variety of disciplinary, policy enforcement, and safety related matters in the interest of students, program integrity, and the clinical site expectations.
    • Support regional project implementation germane to program facilitation and growth, with consideration of workload and scope.
    • Perform clinical instructor observations to assist with evaluation process.
    • Collaborate with the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences, the Associate Deans of Nursing and Health Sciences, and the Program Coordinators to support health scienceprogram delivery options at non-main campus sites.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    SUPERVISION RECEIVEDDirect supervision received from the Associate Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences.
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Direct supervision of staff assistant (if applicable) and regional outside service contracted staff.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMaster's degree with a major in Nursing, plus five to seven years relevant knowledge of nursingeducation and experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparableknowledge and skills are acquired.


    • Broad-based knowledge and skills related to nursing education and clinical nursing practices.
    • Experience teaching fundamental nursing skills and theory.
    • Vermont RN License required.
    • Strong organizational, administrative, and budget management skills.
    • Ability to communicate and deal effectively with and represent the programs to the University, nursing and health care, and student communities, and a wide range ofindividuals throughout the State

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIESKnowledge:

    • Understanding of faculty hiring and review, promotion, and tenure processes, including best practices for recruiting and retaining diverse faculty.
    • Understanding of student recruitment and retention practices.
    • Understanding of academic policies, procedures, and supports for student success

    Location:
    Remote hybrid with a home-campus (Randolph) within the designated region. Travel to main campuses as necessary/required per regional needs.
