    Project Engineer I is an entry level position within the Transmission team to perform electric and gas utility related engineering tasks and provide technical expertise to solve design problems under close supervision.

    Incumbents are expected to perform a variety of routine tasks, which provide experience and familiarity with engineering staff, methods, practices and programs.

    This position reports to the Transmission Manager.

    The engineer will need to be flexible with work assignments and eager to learn new tasks as the office grows.


    Requirements:

    Position requirements include:
    Works under close supervision and receives specific and detailed instructions for required tasks and results expected.

    Participate in the design and evaluation of Client both electric and gas transmission and distribution infrastructure to ensure that the needs of the Client are met in the most economical and effective mannerParticipate infrastructure design using AutoCAD, PLS-CADD and/or other design tools.

    Develop understanding and expertise of DOT 192, ASME and local jurisdiction natural gas requirements. Participate in preparation and administration of client construction contracts.
    Develop understanding and expertise of RUS and NESC requirements. Participate in preparation and administration of IOU, RUS, state, and municipal construction contracts.
    Review engineering plans, specifications and equipment for utility projects.
    Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches.

    Assist in the continued development of both Company and Client standards to provide guidelines for future project planning and designPerform basic functions of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookMust interface well with employees and clients at all levels.

    Minimum Qualifications:
