Job summary
The Nurse Practitioner works directly with physicians and other staff to deliver comprehensive gynecological care for patients at Whole Woman's Health.
Responsibilities
- Provide health screening such as pap smears pelvic exams breast checks STI screening.
- Counsel patients regarding birth control options provide birth control including diaphragms IUDs.
- Counsel educate provide resources on women's health issues identify non-gynecological medical problems manage refer review triage patient labs in accordance with physician orders protocols liaison communicate client management referral return calls established patients encountering problems questions chart findings accurately clearly basic skills manual blood pressure temperature pulse finger stick venipuncture height weight injection IVs microscopy assist ultrasound surgical setup aftercare recovery room during surgical abortion perform follow up visits post-abortion problems act resource local area women community providers train education staff nurses appropriate initiate improvements protocols educational materials internal forms paperwork patient care coordinate travel arrangements plan schedule conference calls meetings create maintain files records historical informational reference maintain discretion confidentiality accessibility administrative files continue education training certification Basic Life Support biannually knowledge emergency supplies inventory location use pharmacology medications administered OSHA HIPAA CLIA regulations handle fast paced environment organize complete related projects timely manner work independently team player demonstrated analytical critical thinking skills resolve situations logical systematic approach work physical ability capability perform task office possess excellent visual hearing acuity.
