    Summary

    The primary function of this position is to organize the transportation of medical waste. Evaluates route efficiency and makes recommendations to improve the overall cost of transportation and ensures profitable revenue. Responsible for managing the work of SQG Driver's.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

    Selects, trains and develops an effective and efficient staff; makes every reasonable effort to select, train, and develop qualified, diverse workforce.

    Communicates performance standards and objectives; conducts performance evaluations, recommends salary adjustments, promotions, transfers and dismissals.

    Monitors operations and staff and recommends, when necessary, changes in methods, procedures, structure, and additions or changes in personnel to secure optimum utilization of resources.

    Administers all Company policies and procedures, communicates to staff, interprets as necessary, ensures compliance and safety.
    Monitors and ensures that staff is performing their functions safely and productively. Makes recommendations for changes or improvement, when necessary.
    Responsible for managing the transportation of medical waste throughout your district.
    Manages and approves all scheduling and routing of Small Quantity Generator customers.
    Monitors vehicle inspection/repairs for SQG fleet and scheduling rental trucks when needed.
    Responsible for the transportation of reusable sharps program at various hospital facilities.
    Review, analyze and approve payroll hours to ensure overtime hours are necessary and all employees are working efficiently.
    Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Demonstrates knowledge of DOT, OSHA and EPA Regulations.

    Demonstrates knowledge of computer software applications to include spreadsheets and word processing.

    Demonstrates knowledge of inventory management and routing and rerouting.

    Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills with an attention to detail.

    Desire to help automate, streamline and document processes.

    Organized, self-motivated, ability to multi-task and work independently.

    EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

    Education equivalent to graduation from high school, or the equivalent in related work experience
    Two or more years of customer service experience required. Previous route management experience is a plus.
    Ability to plan and supervise the work of others.
    Maintains current required driver's license, with an excellent driving record.
    Demonstrates good computer skills.
    Successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, background and motor vehicle records check.

    Language Skills

    Ability to effectively communicate in English, read, and understands regulatory requirements. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


    REASONING ABILITY
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions in mathematical form.
