Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs Imaging studies of various parts of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injury.

• Positions and prepares patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed 
• Assesses patients throughout procedures and responds to patient needs as appropriate 
• Completes appropriate documentation for each study performed, including all computer and PACS functions 
• Observes safety regulations and aseptic practice techniques to protect patients and staff 
• Demonstrates knowledge of universal protocols, and uses professional judgment and critical thinking skills when performing procedures 
• Assists with orientation and training of new staff and instructs students during their clinical rotations 
• Performs sonograms including Ob/Gyn, abdominal, cerebral, vascular, pediatrics, small part scans, and other necessary studies 
• Participates in the improvement of operational functions of the department 
• Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care and practices identifying opportunities for improvement through collaboration 
• Performs all other duties as assigned 

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
• (RVT) Registered Vascular Technician
• Associate Degree
• (RDCS) Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or (RCS) Registered Cardiac Sonographer, or (RDMS-AB) RDMS Abdomen Specialty, or (RDMS-PS) RDMS Pediatric Sonography, or (RDMS-OB/GYN) RDMS Obstetrics & Gynecology
