    POSITION OVERVIEWResponsible for maintaining the sterile field in the operating room, being constantly vigilant to see that proper aseptic techniques are utilized to prevent contamination and infection.

    Required to assist the surgical team as the sterile member who passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during surgery.
    Assists with prompt turnover of surgical cases, case setup and proper care of surgical instruments and equipment.
    Performs delegated patient care duties.

    Receives direction from:
    Operating Room RN, Providers, Anesthesia Providers, Nursing ManagerEDUCATIONOne-year surgical scrub experience in multispecialty surgery.
    EXPERIENCESurgical Tech Certification or within 6 months of hire.
    Montana Nursing License (only if LPN rather than Surg Tech Certified).LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONSBasic medical terminology and anatomy, asepsis, and sterile technique. Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIESUse of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
