    Career Interest:
    The PRN Clinical Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care for patients. This consists of ensuring drug therapy that results in safe, effective, and cost conscious use of pharmaceuticals. Must demonstrate excellent interdisciplinary communication and exhibit strong educational and precepting abilities.


    Responsibilities:
    Receives and interprets medication orders and transcribes to computerized patient medication profilesCompounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals, including sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition productsIssues controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains recordsCompletes pharmacokinetics consults ordered during their shift determining medication dosingProvides information and education patient/family regarding medicationsProvides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners; suggests appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff

    JOB REQUIREMENTSRequired:
    Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties certification in chosen area ofspecialty preferred Education: Graduate of a Bachelors or Doctorate Degree in PharmacyPharmacist licensure in state of primary practice siteLicensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Kansas or eligibility for licensureBasic Life Support (BLS)

    CertificationPreferred:
    Completion of an accredited post graduate training program (PGY-1 and/or PGY02) residency programPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal ResuscitationProgram (NRP) certification as necessaryAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as necessary
