Operator/Directional Drill Technician

We are searching for a knowledgeable and skilled Operator to join our team. Whether you possess some background in the construction field or none at all, this position could be ideal for you.

This is a hands-on role in the directional drilling industry that involves working outdoors in various conditions. If you prefer not being confined to a desk with a monotonous view, then this job could be right up your alley. A CDL is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

Performing general labor tasks
Locating and marking utilities

• Clearing worksites from dangerous or outdated materials

• Assisting team members on site

• Managing and moving materials and tools

• Operating power tools and machinery when necessary

• Executing manual labor tasks as directed by supervisors (e.g., excavation, stacking goods)

• Installing warning signs (e.g., cones, signposts) for vehicles and pedestrians

• Assisting in assembling and relocating temporary structures

• Reporting equipment issues or unsafe conditions

Ensuring all equipment is maintained and used following company health and safety standards.
Performing maintenance, lubrication, and routine safety checks on equipment.
Ensuring correct positioning of equipment before operating or shutting down, and loading/unloading it.
Training new team members on equipment safety practices.
Performing other construction duties as required.
Supervising the safe distribution of concrete and other materials.
Promptly notifying the Supervisor or Foreman of any faults.
Keeping sites clean and secure.
Participating in meetings and training sessions to ensure responsible equipment operation.
Operating mini excavator and/or directional drill.

Basic Requirements:
1-3 years of formal education and/or experience
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Experience overseeing a team of 2-4 individuals
Background in the telecom sector or a similar field
Diligent work ethic
Valid driver's license and compliance with insurance provider qualifications
Fundamental Math Skills
Ability to meet physical demands of the role (e.g., prolonged standing, lifting heavy loads up to 40 pounds, etc.)
Excellent hand-eye coordination
Familiarity with power tools and machinery is beneficial
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Dedication to safety protocols
Completion of an apprenticeship or specialization is advantageous, though not obligatory

Additional Details:

Full-time position, with over 40 hours per week
