    Job Title:

    Senior Construction Inspector - Transportation

    EFK Moen, LLC is a civil engineering design consulting firm headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri with additional office locations in St. Charles, Missouri, Chicago and Fairview Heights, Illinois, and Atlanta, Georgia.

    We are currently seeking a Senior Construction Inspector for a full-time position in our St. Louis, MO or Fairview Heights, IL Offices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform construction inspection tasks on roadway/highway/bridge/site projects
    • Ensure that the contractor provides a quality improvement in accordance with the plans, specifications, and special provisions in a timely manner
    • Provide accurate and efficient measurements and construction staking as a member of the survey crew
    • Keep accurate and legible records of inspection field measurements and documentation of the contract
    • Provide material inspection and testing
    • Keep the field Engineer informed on the status of problems with the contractor's work
    • Maintain records as directed by the field Engineer
    • Perform duties in compliance with the company's safety rules
    • Job duties may require both field work and office work

    Requirements:

    • Associate or bachelor's degree with relevant coursework required
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in roadway construction, reading design plans, and specifications
    • Attention to detail and basic math skills
    • Working knowledge of surveying and construction layout preferred
    • Working knowledge of material testing and testing equipment preferred
    • Proficient in contract administration software, MoDOT AASHTOWARE, IDOT CMMS/ICORS is a plus
    • OSHA 10 and ACI certifications are a plus
    • Working knowledge of CADD (Microstation of AutoCad)
    • Working knowledge of DOT/AASHTO Standards
    • MoDOT, IDOT, or local public agency project experience preferred
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with leadership and coworkers
    • Valid driver's license required
