    Title: Mechanical Drafter II

    Location: Rapid City, SD(Hybrid)

    Duration: 12+ Months Contract (Possible of Extension)

    Pay Rate: $26/hr on w2.

    Job Description:

    The position will be working with the various Client electrical teams to design and model electrical harnesses, and components, and modify schematics. The position will also be responsible for detailing the design and working with suppliers potentially. A member of the Caterpillar BHEDC team will provide mentorship for this position, but the individual must be able to be self-directed and motivated

    Typical task breakdown:


    • Participate in receiving and tracking engineering requests for specific electrical harnesses and supporting brackets needed for a given job, balancing multiple jobs and timelines associated with them


    • Adhering to all Caterpillar standards and specifications as required


    • Assist in the design, modeling detailing and supplier collaboration

    Education & Experience Required:

    Minimum of associate degree required

    Technical Skills

    (Required)

    Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office base programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoints)

    Proficiency with the CADD program

    Technical Skills

    (Required)

    -Proficient in the use of 3d parametric modeling and drafting software such as Autodesk

    Inventor, Solid works or Cero

    -Print reading

    -Proficient with Microsoft office products (i.e. Word, Excel, Ppt, Onenote, Teams, SharePoint

    -Proficient in the use of Creo Parametric modeling software

    -Manufacturing print reading

    -Hands-on experience (machining, welding, automotive)
