    Overview:
    This position is for an 10-month secretarial position in our attendance office. The role would require an individual to maintain accurate records for student attendance and interact with students and community members on a daily basis. Other professional and administrative duties may be required as prescribed.

    Qualifications:
    The individual who fills this position should have a genuine call to the educational profession and a desire to see young people reach their full potential. Clerical skills are a must and the ability to interact with the public. Applicants who can add to the overall climate and culture of the school are also desired.

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Communicates with parents, students, staff, etc. in person, by telephone or letter for the purpose of providing information on a variety of attendance issues and meeting district and state absence notification requirements.
    • Ensures accuracy of attendance records, including verification of forgeries and truancies for the purpose of complying with State laws governing attendance accounting.
    • Maintains a variety of attendance records, schedules, and files (manual and computer) (e.g. contact and telephone logs, student attendance, school calendars, etc.) for the purpose of providing reliable information in compliance with district policies.
    • Prepares a variety of reports and written materials (e.g. passes, standardized and special attendance reports, letters to parents, etc.) for the purpose of conveying information regarding school and/or district activities and procedures.
    • Processes documents and materials (e.g. attendance records, student placement, disciplinary and/or suspension notices, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
    • Responds to inquiries from a variety of individuals (e.g. staff, parents, probation officers, other schools, and/or students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or directions as may be required.
    • Maintain student records and files.
    • Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
    • Follow federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Education High School diploma or equivalent.
