    What Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing contributes to Cardinal Health

    Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

    The Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing team is responsible for managing supplier relations at a tactical level by executing and expediting purchase orders. Supply Chain Inventory/Purchasing ensures the right quantity of products arrive in the right place, at the right time and cost. Assists in negotiating product and supply chain costs. Utilize terms and conditions of supplier contracts, work with internal customers to improve processes, and evaluate supplier performance that ultimately improves the supply chain.

    Job Summary

    The Consultant, Supply Chain Inventory Purchasing assists on sales operations over the counter products. This job develops a sales forecast by aligning results from sales (past trends) and marketing (future events) and presents findings, trends and reports in the Sales and Operations planning meetings. This job also facilitates Sales and Operations meetings and reaches alignment between demand and sales supply. In addition, this job generates monthly reports to communicate with management regarding supply and demand issues and develops excel files for the sales team tools to gather sales demand data.

    Responsibilities:

    • Processing daily usage and review forecasting for Customer specific demand
    • Leading collaboration on S&OE and S&OP processes across teams inventory
    • Analyzing for the region and identification of supply/demand patterns.
    • Driving Forecasting modeling and statistical forecasting across the demand planning team
    • Creating/Improving/Automating proactive demand sensing and modeling
    • Utilizing statistical modeling, data analysis, and historical trends to forecast product demand accurately.
    • Collaborating with sales, category management, and sourcing teams to gather market insights and incorporate them into demand planning processes.
    • Monitoring inventory levels and identify potential risks and opportunities to optimize inventory management.
    • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and minimize supply chain disruptions.
    • Analyzing forecast accuracy and performance metrics to continuously improve demand planning processes and strategies.
    • Coordinating cross-functional efforts to address demand fluctuations, product launches, and promotional activities effectively.
    • Staying informed about industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes that may impact demand forecasts and supply chain operations
    • Identifying data requirements, often beyond the standard, and collects all relevant data needed to analyze a complex problem, situation or issue.
    • Demonstrating a commitment to meeting service expectations or fulfilling service agreements; consistently meets customers' needs.
    • Working independently to identify current service level issues and determines the best sources of data for pinpointing the problem; effectively lead the coordination and resolution of those issues.
    • Relaying critical information for customer communications.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
    • 5+ years' experience preferred.
    • Responsible for meeting service level and DIOH targets.
    • Experience with demand and supply planning preferred.
    • Strong Access and Excel skills with an emphasis on creating databases and writing queries preferred.
    • Strong Business Objects skills, experience with Tableau is desired for this role.
    • Previous supply chain experience preferred.
    • Previous experience using data warehouse inventory management systems preferred.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong presentation and communication skills.

    • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of universally accepted demand planning and forecasting concepts and applicable SOPs.
    • Independently analyzes customer demand, interprets trends and initiates needed changes.
    • Creates, approves, and implements SOPs as it pertains statistical forecasting.
    • Applies theories to optimize forecasting, purchasing and inventory systems.
    • Uses data mining and analysis tools; provides analysis and recommendations based on results.
    • Recommends and implements solutions to optimize inventory investment and maximize customer satisfaction.
    • Involved in project management activities and process grow Customer specific forecasting.
    • Works to understand complex functional situations by paying attention to the details of the tasks at hand and by breaking them down into smaller pieces.
    • Collaborates with others and builds strategic alliances globally; negotiates to build broad-based support and/or persuades others to influence important outcomes.
    • Ensures that customers have a positive experience; commits to meet or exceed customer expectations.
    • Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency while providing flawless transactions, services and products; manages monetary assets and other resources to optimize cost effectiveness.
    • Measures and evaluates the effectiveness of protocols, programs or deliverables; compares measurement results to standards and takes immediate action to close gaps identified.

    Anticipated salary range: $65,500 - $93,500
