Job summary
We are seeking a Staff Python Software Engineer to lead the design and development of a robust Python Software Development Kit (SDK) for controlling and interfacing with an ultrasound imaging device.This is a senior individual contributor role for an engineer who is a fast learner, self-starter, and capable of working autonomously in a complex, hardware-adjacent environment.
As part of our team your core responsibilities will include but not limited to serve as technical owner architect for python based sdk controlling ultrasound imaging device
lead sdk design decisions with focus on api clarity usability scalability long term maintainability rapidly learn complex device behavior workflows system constraints make informed design decisions work autonomously define requirements propose solutions execute minimal supervision collaborate cross functionally firmware hardware imaging systems product teams define control data interfaces
design abstractions for device configuration image acquisition real time data streaming system state management establish best practices for sdk architecture testing strategy documentation standards release processes ensure robustness performance reliability hardware integrated real time contexts drive versioning backward compatibility deprecation policies partner facing release strategy create maintain high quality developer documentation examples reference implementations mentor provide technical guidance other engineers contributing sdk adjacent platform components support internal teams external partners integration debugging advanced use cases
