    Summary

    Greets and directs residents, visitors, employees, vendors, physicians and other inquiring parties in a courteous and helpful manner 100% of the time. Answers all telephone calls by the third ring, identifies oneself by name and the facility, and provides assistance to caller in a timely manner per established facility procedure. Accepts, documents, and delivers pertinent information and messages to appropriate personnel accurately and in a timely manner 100% of the time. Assembles resident records and unit documents in a complete and accurate manner. Accurately enters patient related and other department changes into the computer system according to established procedure. Maintains adequate supply of forms, materials, and other supplies as outlined in established facility procedures so that required materials are at appropriate levels 100% of the time. Opens and sorts mail as appropriate and distributes to proper recipient within one hour after receipt of mail. Prepares, types, and distributes documents with 100% accuracy and in a timely manner per established facility policy. Enters data into the computer in an accurate and timely manner 100% of the time. Monitors all residents, guests, and other individuals who enter or leave the facility. Ensures that all residents leaving the facility with family member or guest are properly signed out prior to exiting the building. Alerts supervisor or seeks guidance with any questionable phone calls, individuals, residents, or employee concerns. Ensures and documents that someone has taken responsibility for the desk when leaving for breaks and lunch. Sets priorities in work, separating emergency/STAT orders from regular workflow following established department procedures, Patient Care Services policies and/or Health System guidelines. May be assigned other duties as appropriate.

    Job Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • One year health care and/or clerical experience
    • Excellent communication skills to interact verbally with residents, visitors, and staff
    • Good computer skills
    • Ability to manage time and organize daily schedule to meet productivity standards
    • Minimum typing skills of 35wpm
    • Manual dexterity, coordination and skillful use of hands when working with patients and equipment
    • Must be able to lift and transport items weighing up to 10lbs
    • Must be able to receive and express detailed information through oral communication
    • Must possess visual acuity and the ability to read and understand written directions
    • Ability to perform necessary written and electronic documentation
