- Checks and maintains lift stations.
- Cleans sewer wet wells.
- Responds to and clears sewer backups.
- Cleans bar screens.
- Maintains sewer lines and system.
- Must be able to drive and operate a vehicle to travel as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- No experience required;
- Or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Possession of a NC Collections Grade I Certification.
- Possession of a valid North Carolina commercial driver's license (Class A).
- Knowledge of the principles of plumbing and mechanical maintenance as applicable to water distribution systems.
- Knowledge of the geographical layout of the County.
- Skill in using equipment and tools necessary for locating and unearthing water system fixtures.
- Skill in performing mathematical computations with speed and accuracy,
- Ability to perform minor equipment repairs.
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time, possibly under challenging and arduous conditions
- Ability to meet deadlines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects; frequently requiring 30 pounds of force to move objects; and occasionally requiring to exert up to 100 pounds of force to move objects.
This work also involves the physical abilities of balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, kneeling, lifting, having manual dexterity, pulling, pushing, reaching, performing repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, expressing ideas by the spoken word, and walking.
An incumbent must also possess the visual acuity to operate equipment and look for defects.WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The employee works primarily in the field and is subject to various hazards. Requires working for extended periods of time, possibly under challenging and arduous conditions.
