    A Day in the Life of a Construction Cost Engineer:

    • Preparing and reviewing forecasts, budgets, and bidding documents for all Cinemark construction projects
    • Analyzing project specifications, drawings, contracts, and other documents to determine the scope of work and cost drivers
    • Developing and maintaining cost databases, benchmarks, and indices for various types of construction activities
    • Performing risk analysis and contingency planning to account for uncertainties and variations in costs
    • Monitoring and reporting on cost performance and progress of construction projects
    • Identifying and recommending cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions
    • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure alignment of cost objectives and expectations
    • Providing cost input and guidance for change orders, claims, and disputes
    • Conducting cost audits and reviews to verify the accuracy and completeness of cost data
    • Preparing and presenting cost reports and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders
    • Works cross-functionally (F&B, Marketing, Operations, Sourcing) on various sizes and scopes of projects, to ensure stakeholder priorities are maintained and executed within allotted time frame and budget

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelors Degree in Architecture, Finance, Accounting, or related field, preferred.
    • 3-5 years theatre or retail construction management required
    • In-depth knowledge of standard remodel, ground-up construction practices
    • In-depth knowledge of material, finish, and FF&E sourcing practices
    • Experience reviewing and justifying budgets
    • Experience communicating estimate strategy to construction and non-construction professionals
    • Ability and willingness to be a creative thinker and find innovative solutions to reduce costs with no impact on quality or concept.
    • Strong Attention to detail
    • Organized with proficient time management skills
    • Experience interacting with internal and external contacts
    • Strong Microsoft Office Skills
    • Some Travel Required
