- Manages purchasing approvals and ensuring that organizational funds are used to further the mission of the organization.
- Monitors all income, i.e., room/board, ResHab, donations, grants, investments, etc. to ensure monies received are recorded and used for the intended purpose.
- Ensures that staff maintain financial record systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Monitors employee time worked versus budget and addresses variances with supervisors
- Reviews payroll prior to final submission.
- Implements annual budget.
- Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results monthly; initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances for the organization and all related entities.
- Reports financial status by reporting results for internal and external purposes; analyzes variances; recommends improvements.
- Manage month-end closing activities in partnership with other accounting staff.
- Responsible for financial compliance of HUD projects including requesting adequate rents, financial management, and budgeting.
- Backs up Payroll Specialist, Accounts Payable Specialist, and Accounting Manager in his/her absence.
